I am so terrible at blogging lately!! I know I have been needing to update for a while now, but just haven't really been in the mood and we have just had too much going on lately. From dentist appointments, to doctor appointments, to card swap, to recipe exchange, to food group, to church activities, to home projects, to who knows what else, life is just crazy!! One week I seriously had something kind of big going on every day, it was exhausting. But I wanted to post some pictures from this past week. My family came into town so we enjoyed spending time with them and showing them the sites here. We also blessed Elsie while they were here so I have some pictures of that as well. It was sad to see them go! Maia and I kind of had a rough day when they left. Maia kept crying for her "nana and poppy" and couldn't figure out why they had to leave. It was so sad. It's hard being so far away! I don't realize how much fun it is to be around family until I spend time with them! Anyway, here are some pictures from their visit...
First things first...we had to go and see the Falls, of course!
I love this picture (below)...even though Maia is blurry, it just totally shows how she is--full of spunk and energy! I swear the girl never walks--she RUNS!!
And then we did the Palmyra thing...
Maia posing at the Smith farm...
Sweet Elsie...I kind of feel like so many of the pictures I have of Elsie are of her confined in her carseat! But she is so happy and content that she usually just stays there and we just transfer her from the car to the stroller and back again!
A cute picture of my mom--I love her so much!
This one of Maia is so funny..if you look closely, she is holding a little doll...Maia had to stop and take a break so she could "feed her baby." Can you tell we have a nursing baby in our home?!
Then we had Elsie's blessing...David's mom made Elsie's blessing dress. It turned out beautifully! Thanks Grandma Barbara! And Megan made her beautiful bow...too bad she wasn't here to take some pictures of the big day! Instead you get an amateur attempt at a photoshoot (don't judge them too harshly Megan:)
Elsie loved the material of the dress and wanted to suck on it constantly! We had a hard time keeping it out of her mouth for a picture.
We went to the park to play and to feed the geese...here is Maia and Uncle Ryken.
Maia and Poppy..she loved waking him up every day...I'm sure he loved it too:) There's nothing like a 7am wake-up call when you are on vacation right? But no matter what, he was always ready to play when she ran down the stairs to see him!
I had to put this one in (below) because of our outfits. I just bought Maia's at a garage sale a couple weeks ago and when I pulled it out to put it on her, she said "Like yours Mommy," and then she went to my closet and wanted me to wear mine too.
And then we just enjoyed spending time together! Here is Aunt Seri and Elsie..Seri sure loves all of her nieces and nephews!
Maia and baby sister....Elsie looks almost as big as Maia in this picture..what a chunk! As a sidenote, Elsie did weigh in at 13 lbs. 6 oz. at her 2 month check-up. She gained 5 lbs since birth!! And that put her into the 90th percentile for weight. She's not far behind with her length..87th percentile for that.
The last picture before they left...so sad. Maia and I both cried when they pulled out of the driveway! Thanks so much for coming family, we love you so much! You are welcome to come back ANYTIME!

That must have been so fun to have your family visit. I'm glad we got to meet them. I cried the day my mom left too! It's the worst! Elsie looks beautiful in her blessing dress!! So elegant. I cried through her blessing. I just think they are so sweet. Dave did a good job! Thanks for inviting us. :)

It is so hard to have your family leave, and I am sure even harder for you with them being so far from you. I love that she was nursing the dolly! It is so funny that they mimic everything we do! Sadie is such a copy cat. I love that she was really just nursing her!

Your girls are so beautiful. Maia looks just like you. Cambree does the same thing with here dolls. It is so funny how little girls copy everything their moms do.
