Out on the boat

This weekend we got to enjoy David's pride and joy...his fishing boat.....however, the motor is in the shop getting some kinks worked out, so we just floated and rowed it ourselves. Personally, I kind of prefer it that way! It takes me back to working river trips with my dad in the summertime, only this boat is a little easier to maneuver! The creek that we went on is called Tonawanda Creek and is right by our house. The weather has been so beautiful lately and so we have been enjoying ourselves, being outside as much as possible! There are a lot of ducks on the creek and Maia loved looking at them. This was her first time in a boat and she did pretty good for the most part...she got a little squirmy at the end. We're breaking her in early and getting her ready for the river trip next summer.....she will love it!

Enjoying the perfect weather!

Hanging out at Ellicott Creek Park. This park is so big and really gorgeous! It has a creek running through it so there are lots of geese and ducks to look at, which Maia loves.

Waving to everyone!
This was Maia's first encounter with bubble bath....of course, she wanted to eat it! Not such a good idea. The bubble bath will be put away for a while....we'll try again later. These pictures don't really fit with the others or with the theme of the day, but they were cute, so I added them anyway.
We took a trip to Beaver Island State Park this week with a bunch of other mom's and kids. It was a blast--the kids loved playing in the sand and water, especially Maia. I thought she might not like it because the water was a little chilly, but she didn't want to get out. After a while, her arms started shaking and her little teeth were chattering so I decided we better go get warm--but she didn't like that idea. She cried and cried, so I had to let her play in it a little bit longer--what a spoiled girl, right? This picture below is of Maia hanging out with the big girls! She is 10 months going on 3 years obviously!

We have been trying to get outside as much as possible lately, enjoying the beautiful weather while it lasts! We know our days are numbered with blue skies and sunshine. Things have been going great here...we are really loving it! David is enjoying school (for the most part! exam weeks can get stressful though) and Maia and I are having fun hanging out with each other every day (for the most part! I love her to pieces, but some days can be long!)

Who does Maia look like????

Okay, I had to steal this idea from my friend Chelsea....and now I want to know if everyone else agrees. Who does she look like? Most of the comments we get lean towards me (Crescent)....but leave a comment and give your input.

All About Maia

Playing at the park with Sariah

Maia is playing little doggie with Sariah....so cute huh?

Princess Maia (and isn't that the TRUTH!)

I love da-da!!

Look how grown up she is already!! Do you love the red shoes? Maia is quite fond of them.....they were a gift from our friend Megan. Thanks Megan!!

This one has a funny story....I had just brought up a load of laundry and set the basket in the computer room while I put some pictures on the computer. Maia was playing in the room with some of her toys, but then I heard some rustling behind me. I turned around and Maia had climbed in the laundry basket and was sitting in there playing with the clothes! Don't ask me how she managed that one, but she sure was proud of herself, as you can see from the pictures!

Maia's first baby doll

This was Maia's first encounter with lasagne....I think she liked playing in it more than eating it!

Playing "peek-a-boo"
Maia sure loves her blankie so much!!

Maia is just so dang cute, I have to take a million pictures of her!! And then I have to share them all with you! So here are some recent pictures of Maia enjoying herself as usual...hope they make you smile as much as me!

Daddy's Girl

Maia signing "Da-Da"

Hanging out in her Jeep

Maia is officially a Daddy's girl (okay, I'm just a LITTLE bit jealous!!). She gets so excited when he comes home from school and cries when he has to leave in the morning. She can also do the sign for Dad (I'm posting pictures of her doing the sign)....it is really cute!

The Pad!

  1. Living Room

  2. Maia's Room

  3. Kitchen

  4. Office

    5. Master Bedroom

I've been meaning to take some pictures of our place and post them so that everyone can kind of get a feel for what our house looks like. So here they are! It should be pretty easy to figure out which room is which, but I'll try to put descriptions near the pictures(sometimes it doesn't quite match up though!). Oh ya, and the picture of the fish is David's own doing (he decorated the whole office, which he is quite proud of)! It's kind of like his fishing shrine or something....he even painted that picture....yes, he is very talented in many different areas. I didn't take any of our basement because it really isn't too exciting...just storage, laundry and a play/TV room....and the beloved treadmill is down there too! Hope you enjoy them!

Happy Birthday Love!

Yesterday was David's 27th birthday! He got the present of his dreams....a fishing boat!! We went in on it with our friends the Phillips' so it really wasn't that expensive at all. David is extremely excited about it, as you can all imagine. In fact, where do you think he is right now? Of course, FISHING!! He got up at 6am this morning to go! We took it out for a trial run the day we got it (actually Maia and I just got to sit in it for looks because we don't have a life jacket for her yet), but there were some technical difficulties with the motor so David didn't get far....luckily he was able to fix it when he got home. We'll have to see how this latest excursion went. I'm sure if he catches anything, he'll want me to post the pictures of them! Typical fisherman right, bragging it up and all! Anyway, we had a big "Birthday BBQ Bash" for him last night in our backyard with our friends and neighbors. We had a great time....we are meeting so many wonderful people who I know will be lifelong friends. Oh and just a little FYI, the Barbie Jeep that you see in the pictures(which the kids totally love!) is a treasure from the curb...meaning it didn't cost me a penny!
