Team Hulse

This past weekend I had the opportunity to run in the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure 5K with an awesome group of friends...my friend Amy, is a breast cancer survivor and an amazing example to me of trust, faith, patience, and HAPPINESS regardless of what the situation is. So when Amy came to me a while back asking me if I would join her team, I was honored and didn't hesitate to say "YES!" She put together these cute headbands that had "Team Hulse" embroidered on them and made cute pink flowers for us to pin on our shirts. I've never been so stylish running a race! Here is our pre-race group picture...
These next two pictures are some time after the race. It was such a neat experience to be a part of this race. I got emotional when I first got to there...it was just so neat to feel the unity and strength of everyone there. I can't really explain it, but I know I will definitely be taking part in more of these races in the future! All of the survivors were given a special hot pink shirt to wear that said "Survivor" on it and it was amazing to see how many people who have had to go through the whole cancer ordeal. It was fun to cheer them all across the finish line and see how happy they were to have accomplished such a thing. I'm not very good at putting everything in words, but basically the whole experience was very humbling and made me think about all the little things in life that I'm thankful for but that I all too often take for granted.
Thanks Amy, and Team Hulse, for letting me be a part of such a great event! Can't wait to do it again next year:)

Way to go Crescent that looks like such a great opportunity. You're girls are getting so big and you have such a beautiful family. I was thinking about you guys the last few days, so I thought I'd give you a little shout out. One more year eh? Can you believe it's almost gone?
