A break from the cold...

This past weekend, we decided to go someplace WARM. Where, you might ask, seeing how I live in one of the coldest places in the entire world (or so it seems sometimes!). But yes, there is a warm place about 30 minutes from here....called the Buffalo Botanical Gardens. We headed down there Saturday afternoon with our best good friends the Shaheen's. It was so much fun--I actually felt like it was Spring (for about an hour or two anyway!). But the flowers were so beautiful and smelled terrific and it was just a great afternoon. Maia had a absolute BLAST, of course. This girl is SOOOO amazingly happy when she is outside (okay so we were in a huge greenhouse, but you don't feel like you are at all). She loved the fountains and the fish ponds the best, and of course, just running around freely. Oh they also had a little petting zoo in the back and she loved that too-the bunny rabbits especially. Anyway, I highly recommend a trip down to these gardens, especially if you are living in Buffalo right now and are just a LITTLE fed up with the cold weather--it will truly rejuvenate you! The pictures are in no particular order--I was too lazy to rearrange them so they would be chronological.

Looking for fish in the fish pond!
Doesn't this face say it all?? She loved it!
I think she might have found a fish...
Family picture in the giant Easter Basket.
Maia posing in the bunny rabbit.
Look at how beautiful the flowers were!

Checking out the fountain...
Maia and dad just hanging out.
More fun in the water fountains.
Posing in the petting zoo. What a perfect backdrop huh?

I love this picture of Maia because it highlights her little wispy hair tail perfectly!! Oh and she's still looking for the fish in the pond...it was really hard to drag her away from this one!
Our beautiful baby girl--she is just too cute!
More posing in the flowers...

Maia with Aunt Megan and Uncle Bron...and a big CONGRATS to them--they are expecting their first baby in September. We are all so excited for them and can't wait to meet the newest addition to their little family. Thanks you guys for being such great friends and for having fun with us this weekend!

That looks like fun. I wish that we had more places like that down here. I seriously want to start a hands on museum or something here. My friend had pictures of one where she lives and I think that it would be great in Cedar. There are so many cold months where moms want to get out and take their kids places. The flowers are gorgeous.

I blogstalk you guys from time to time - cute pictures, I will have to take chase to the botanical gardens ASAP... let me know if maia ever wants to play with chase - we are bored. I feel like winter will never end.

thanks for the HT lesson yesterday, it was fun hanging out all together for a little joint HT-action.

Hi! We can't believe we are moving in 2 months! It'll be here before we know it. We are planning on heading out around June 8th. We are making quite the road trip out of it so it'll probably take us like 6 days to get there. We are way excited!

Crescent... so easy to make... i just bought a 2x4 at home depot and they will cut it in half for you... i made one with my friend and so we split it, and then we each only had to pay a dollar!! We bought the hooks on ebay because they were only .99. And at home depot and walmart they were four, and well we are poor, so this had to be a cheap craft!!! The frames i had some and then bought a few at walmart and just hot glued ribbon from michaels on the back of them. So Easy!! And all under $15!!! If you decide to make one and have questions let me know!
