We had Maia's 18 month old check-up yesterday, so here's how she measures up:
23.5 pounds--35% for weight
331/4 inches--89% for height (I didn't realize she was so tall for her age!)
She actually did really good at the doctor this time, which was really nice, seeing how last time she cried so hard when the doctor tried to look in her ears she threw up all over me...yeah, not such a pleasant experience! Anyway, this time she was very social and talkative with the MD. The doctor said she is well above average for her speaking skills, which made me very proud of my little one! She really is talking so much now. Just this last week she started putting 2 words together (like "more cracker") which is a big speech milestone, says my mom who is a speech therapist, so that is very exciting for us.
Other than our exciting doctor visit, we haven't been doing a whole lot lately...just working in the yard getting our garden going and spending as much time outside as possible! We went to this really pretty park that is close by our house over Memorial Day weekend, so here are a few pictures from that.
Dad and Maia going down the big slide...Do we look related in this picture?? Lately everyone has been saying how much Maia looks like me--I always go back and forth on who she looks like, just depends on the day I guess!
See how pretty and green it is here when the weather is warm? That is one thing I really love about the East. I miss the mountains of the West, but you can't have it all right?

Glad to see that you guys took a break during your "working" weekend and had some fun. I hope the weather keeps up for many more days like that!
I am always amazed at how quickly these little ones grow. I can't believe that Maia is 18 months-she is such a cutie! I love her personality and what a fun little girl she is becoming.
OH my heck, Sadie was just shy of 22 lbs at her 9 month! Half the age and almost the same size! I would imagine that Maia would be a pretty decent height- not GIANT but decent height. I love the park pictures they are really pretty. It is very green.
I always go back and forth about who Maia looks like the most too! I haven't quite made a final decision yet. I can't wait to come see you guys. Well- hopefully we will make it there anyway!
Crescent, thanks for writing on my blog! Erin is doing well. She's in Provo right now. She has three kids now, two boys and a girl. Crazy, I know. They're going to be moving to Hawaii next year because her hubby in is the military. She doesn't have a blog, but she is on facebook.
We love NYC, but I am jealous of your loans...much nicer price tag. We're probably going to join the army to afford our life in the big city. Hopefully it will work as we want.
PS. Your daughter totally looks like you with your husband's dark hair.
