So this is going to be my last post from Buffalo for a little while. Tomorrow we are headed back to Utah to visit family and friends. I am excited to see everyone, but sad to miss so much of the fun Buffalo summers. There is so much to do here when the weather is warm, and once you've been through one winter here, you know to make the most of the warm days!! And we do! We spend as much time outside as we can. I will try to update my blog while I'm in Utah, but don't get your hopes up! Anyway, here are a few pictures from our latest adventures....
A couple of days ago, we took a trip up to Crystal Beach with a group of our dental friends. I love this beach!! You really feel like you are at the ocean...especially on the day we went because it was kind of windy, so the water really had little waves like the ocean! It was so much fun....except for one part....neither David nor I put sunscreen on....so you know what the result was.....a HORRIFIC sunburn. My thighs have seriously NEVER been so burned in my life. It is a painful lesson well learned!
I had to put these first couple of pictures on because I thought it was so cute. Maia was being really quiet one so I went to check on her...this is what I found....I guess she's going to be a runner like her Mama. (sidenote--do you like my fancy new running shoes? I LOVE them!)Maia had a blast with David in the water. They played and played in it and I got to lay out on the beach (hence the sunburn). But it was very fun and relaxing for me--a girl can't ask for much more right?
David buried Maia in the sand...she thought it was pretty fun!
The guys thought they'd try skimboarding with some homemade boards....they weren't too successful....except for Bron who is pretty much a professional.
In my last post, I promised some pictures of our beautiful garden, so here are a couple. This is only half of it. We have another part on our back fence that is in a big grow box that David made for us. It is so exciting having a garden! I'm worried that I'm going to miss a lot of the good food while I am away!
Look at how great these peas are!!
That brings us to today--July 4th--Happy Independence Day, by the way! We had a very busy, but very fun day. It started off with a big breakfast at the Shaheen's...Lots of yummy food and good company!Maia and one of her new-found friends...there have been lots of FIRST year (I like to say that because we are no longer the new ones!) dental students moving in and it has been fun to meet them all! Anyway, this is Maia looking cute in her 4th of July outfit and Porter, a son of one of the new families.
Rachel and Megan...they worked so hard in the kitchen to make all of the delicious food for the breakfast! Thanks you two, it was so wonderful!
After breakfast, David and I came home and started getting stuff ready for our big trip tomorrow. Then later that afternoon, we went to 2 different BBQ's. The first was at our neighbor's, the Tanner's house. Here is Maia and their little girl playing in the Jeep.
Then after that BBQ, we went over to our friends the Cardon's house for more food and fun. Here is somewhat of a group shot...
The boys playing KanJam and some ladder game...
And my favorite picture....Maia and LB sharing a kiss! So CUTE!
I guess that sums it up! To all of our friends in Buffalo--we will miss you soooo much! Don't have too much fun without us! And to our friends and family in Utah...can't wait to see you!

It looks like you guys had such a great time before you left. It's great having friends here! I love the pictures of Crystal Beach, we haven't been yet and I can't wait. Have fun in Utah!

What a fun trip to the beach! I love your pictures! It was so fun planning and having Jul's shower last weekend...thanks so much for everything you did!! I loved the cute recipe box you made for her, by the way! You'll have to teach me how to make one! Anyway, tell Sienna I'm so happy for her and hope you have a safe trip up and back! Love ya girl.
