This is the first of several catch up posts...more for my own personal journaling than for anything else as I'm sure no one cares what we did clear back in AUGUST! But here we go on the marathon catch-up....seriously the story of my blogging life...sigh.
Back in August, we took a day trip up the Jemez Mountains. It was beautiful up there and the temperature was perfect!
We stopped at a lake called Fenton Lake. Even though the water smelled so fishy (and there were thousands of tiny fish all over at the shore--gross!) the girls were dying to go wading in it, fish and all. There was this little stream with a walking trail next to it that came off from the lake. It was so pretty!
We went up to the fish hatchery, but it really wasn't anything too exciting... just seemed like another lake to me! But the girls loved the wildflowers there.
I had to include this one of little Mason so that he would know that he was there and was occasionally let out of his carseat:)
Then we drove up to Jemez Falls...apparently it is usually much prettier...the water was so dirty from the ash from the huge wildfires...there is supposed to be a place where you can go swimming and such but it didn't look appealing on this visit that's for sure!
Overall, a very fun day trip!
