Strawberries and a River Fest

This past week for Playgroup with our church, we went and picked strawberries at a farm here--it was so much fun and the strawberries were super delicious...it only took us two days to eat a whole quart of them. It had just rained a lot the day before we went so the ground was really wet and muddy...paradise for a group of kids!! Maia really loved it, but got a little out of hand towards the end when she just wanted to run free up and down the rows of strawberries...my cue that it was time to go!!

Here is Maia trying to find the biggest, juiciest ones....
....and I think she found it!! David and I thought this picture was hilarious--check out the look on her face!

...posing with our friend Kendra--this picture is so cute because of the genuine smiles on both of their faces! I love it!

...and the running free part....after about 7 or 8 trips all the way down the row and into the mud puddle at the end, it was time to go home.
Friday was David's last day of school until August (YEAHHHH!!) and so we decided to throw a party!! We had a big BBQ in our back yard with lots of our good friends. It was so much fun. I got the camera out to take some pictures, snapped a few of Maia, and then gave David the camera to take pictures of everyone.....so now you know why there is only one picture of Maia from our BBQ. Oh well, I'm sure there will be plenty more BBQ's to take pictures at. This picture is great though. She had just been playing in the dirt and then she had to rub her mouth for some reason...so classic!
These next couple of pictures are from the Buffalo River Fest that was held here this weekend. Maia and I went into downtown Buffalo with Jen and Hayden to go to it. It kind of wasn't what I expected, but it was still fun. They had a couple of carnival-like rides for kids so we let Maia and Hayden go on them. I wasn't sure how Maia would do because this airplane ride actually went pretty fast. She loved it though! Towards the end (it was a pretty long ride) she was getting a little nervous look on her face....maybe she was just feeling a little woozy from all of the going in circles....but anyway, it was her first carnival ride and she did great! Sorry the pictures are blurry...my camera isn't fast enough to take good pictures of moving objects!

That is such a fun play group activity! How old is Maia? Are you working or just being a Mom? I'm still in Nursing School. I'll be done next May. My favorite picture is the one with dirt all over Maia's face..so cute!
